Help us turn $25,000 into $50,000 by next Friday!
Earlier this week, on Giving Tuesday, Save the Storks set an exciting goal to raise $25,000. A generous donor with a big heart for the work we do here at Save the Storks agreed to extend their match – up to $25,000 – until next Friday, December 11th. On Giving Tuesday, our friends at Peak Place Coffeehouse invited us to commandeer the microphone between live music sets to share the mission of Save the Storks with everyone who joined us.
Our founder and CEO, Joe Baker, shared the humble beginnings from which Save the Storks has rapidly grown. Joe was galvanized to combat the dearth of choice that most post-abortive mothers say they encountered when they found themselves pregnant and turned to abortion. Joe knew that this was an injustice. “Whenever you face an injustice,” he told the crowd at Peak Place, “you have to make a decision. You either turn to anger in the midst of injustice and try to solve it immediately, or you turn to grief and brokenness. The miracle is, when you turn to grief and brokenness, God will often give you a vision of how to minister to people and make a difference.”
And God did give Joe a vision. Just four years ago, he and his wife, Ann, purchased a Mercedes Sprinter cargo van and a couple of sleeping bags. They toured the country in the Sprinter on a mission: to raise the funds needed to outfit the van as a mobile ultrasound unit. Joe knew that 84% of post-abortive mothers later say that they felt they’d had no other choice besides abortion, and he had witnessed the power of ultrasounds to empower mothers to choose life for their babies.
Bringing a message of life and hope in the form of a mobile ultrasound unit right to the door of an abortion clinic was the answer. And the stats agreed. When that first Stork Bus was outfitted and sent to New Jersey, three hundred ninety-four mothers chose life in the one year! As our outreach grows and we turn out more Stork Buses, Save the Storks is able to play a role in saving countless lives on abortion’s front lines. In fact, four out of five women who enter a Stork Bus choose LIFE for their children. That’s something to celebrate.
In just four years, Save the Storks has grown our fleet of one Stork Bus to a grand total of thirty-one: seventeen currently deployed to abortion clinics across the nation, and fourteen more in production. And this has only been possible because a core base of donors helps to fund our mission month after month.
On Tuesday, supporters helped us raise over $8,000. Help us as we sprint towards our $25,000 goal, which will be doubled to $50,000, by next Friday, December 11th. Share this message on social media, and visit our pledge page today.
