Should June be Pro-Life Month?

We are on the eve of celebrating our second anniversary of perhaps the most monumental moment in pro-life history. June 24, 2022, marked a turning point for the pro-life movement when the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case.

This decision ended fifty years of federal constitutional abortion and gave new momentum to the life-affirming community. As we celebrate this historic event, we believe June should be recognized as Pro-Life Month. It is a time to celebrate our win and remember that with dedication and faith, anything is possible.

Reflecting on June 24, 2022

While the overturning of Roe v Wade was a monumental win for the movement, it did not end abortion once and for all. Abortion and the pro-life movement have a long history in America, dating back to before Roe v Wade was established in 1973. Before this, abortion was left up to the states, with states like California and New York being the first to introduce abortion law reform1 dating back to as early as the 1950s.

Roe v Wade

The establishment of Roe v Wade was the first large-scale case involving abortion, which brought this human rights issue to the attention of what would become the current pro-life movement. At Save the Storks, our mission extends beyond the overturning of Roe v Wade.

We envision a country where no woman feels forced to choose abortion due to a lack of support or options. Our mobile clinics and partnerships provide comprehensive resources, compassionate care, and essential information, empowering women to choose life and offering hope even in the most challenging situations.

Addressing new challenges in the abortion industry

As the abortion industry has evolved throughout the years, we, as the pro-life movement, work to create innovative solutions so that every woman has access to the care she needs to choose life. The rise of telehealth abortions, where medication is delivered through the mail, is a significant new concern that makes abortion more accessible and less personal. With our initiative, For Every Woman, we intend to make life-affirming care equally accessible to women who are seeking guidance in unplanned pregnancy and beyond.

When we celebrate our wins, we keep the conversation going

Marking June as Pro-Life Month means that we continue to celebrate each win we’ve had in the last 50 years fighting for women to have a real choice for life. Celebrating June as Pro-Life Month reminds us annually that we are still working toward a reality where abortion is unthinkable.

Pro-Life Month fuels our hope to keep going forward with our mission

Sometimes, when we talk about living in a world where abortion is unthinkable, it still seems like an out-of-reach dream. By celebrating Pro-Life Month, we remind ourselves that even what seems impossible can become reality.

Every woman who chooses life, every unborn child saved, and every heart changed is a victory worth celebrating. It means we are one step closer to our goal. We dream that every woman feels empowered and supported to choose life. That abortion would become a needless thing of our past. But we never forget the monumental step forward that the pro-life movement took on that fateful day in June 2022. Let it remind us that together, we can make the impossible happen again.

DEAR READER

We hope this article enlightened and inspired you to stand up for life.

Despite the overturning of Roe v. Wade, abortions are still prevalent in our nation. As a response to the overturning, the media: from the news to entertainment sources to even political figures and celebrities, have pushed abortion as an ongoing agenda, shaping the way this generation thinks and acts. Misinformation is being spread every day, and people are sadly believing the lies.

Our articles and stories aim to tell one thing: the truth.

We know that it is both a blessing and a challenge to understand the reality of abortion, because knowledge incites belief, and belief incites action. But we’re in this together. We believe that we can make abortion unthinkable.

With your support, we look forward to a future where young women are empowered to fight for their own rights: a right to bring life into the world, to be fearless leaders, to be examples of hope, strength, and undeterred resilience. We look forward to a future where life can happen.

If this article strengthened your belief to reach women everywhere with the truth and to let life happen, then please consider helping us extend our reach by making a gift right now. Your gift of just $10 or $20 helps our mission to create a story of hope and empowerment for every woman facing an unplanned pregnancy.

We aim to create a culture that views “pro-life” as equivalent to having empathy and compassion, providing holistic care (before and beyond pregnancy) and education, and most importantly, choosing to speak and act in love. We are pro-life, pro-love, pro-woman, pro-solution.

Don’t just be part of the movement, be part of the solution, and give today.
