Although the outside of the Planned Parenthood abortion vans look similar to ours, the inside is a different story.
The inside of the Planned Parenthood mobile unit has no screen for women to see their ultrasound. Each of our mobile medical clinics has a screen in view to allow women to see their baby on the ultrasound screen. In contrast, abortion services like those provided by Just the Pill use unmarked vans and inform women of the meeting location only on the day of the appointment through a phone call. This secretive approach might suggest they have something to hide despite their claims of legal compliance. If abortion is indeed just healthcare and a positive choice for women, why the need for secrecy? This practice can contribute to the perception that abortions should be kept private and without the involvement of loved ones. Furthering this sentiment, Planned Parenthood does not allow women to bring children, partners, or friends to their appointments, requiring them to attend alone.
