Diane Ferraro urges churches and congregants to equip pastors and engage young people as pro-life momentum grows nationwide

PLANO, Texas — While churches across the nation marked Sanctity of Life Month in January, Save the Storks, a pro-life organization empowering women to choose life, encourages Christians to carry the message of life beyond January and into everyday discipleship.

In a recent op-ed published in The Christian Post titled “Silence in the pulpit and the pew,” CEO Diane Ferraro calls on pastors and congregants alike to speak about abortion and the value of every human life.

“As Christians, we must look inwardly and ask ourselves what we can do to share the sanctity of life message not just in January, but every day of the year,” she wrote.

Ferraro said she is encouraged by the growing presence of young people at events such as the March for Life in Washington, D.C., where many openly embrace a pro-life identity.

“I continue to be inspired by the courage of Christian young people who are standing for life in their schools, churches and communities,” Ferraro said. “But we must ensure they are not standing alone.”

According to a recent Students for Life report cited in Ferraro’s op-ed, 37% of young adults consider themselves pro-life. At the same time, Ferraro notes that 24 million Gen Z lives have been lost because of abortion, citing a Live Action article.

Ferraro shared the story of a high school football player she met at a church conference focused on fatherhood. The teen, himself a new father, sought support from Christian men committed to walking alongside him.

“What gave me goosebumps was learning that this young man was bullied by teammates for choosing life,” Ferraro said. “Fifteen other boys reportedly bragged about paying for abortions, and he was mocked for refusing to do the same.”

Ferraro said the experience underscored both the cultural pressure facing young men and the urgent need for churches to provide clarity and community.

“It is easy to feel discouraged when we hear abortion described as ‘women’s healthcare,’ even among students who attend church,” Ferraro said. “But this is precisely why our pastors and congregations must speak truth with love.”

Through church partnerships, digital outreach and mobile medical clinicsSave the Storks works to create what Ferraro describes as a “story of hope and empowerment” for women facing unplanned pregnancies. The organization partners with pregnancy health clinics nationwide and operates mobile medical clinics that bring women’s healthcare directly into communities.

She also pointed to a recent Save the Storks blog article highlighting why college students are reviving the pro-life movement, as younger generations are seeking consistency between their faith and their public witness.

“Sanctity of Life Month is a powerful reminder to stand up for life,” Ferraro said. “But if our commitment to life is confined to a single Sunday or a single month, we miss the daily opportunities God gives us to protect the unborn.”

Ferraro said the path forward includes prayer, practical support and open conversations within churches.

“When churches step into this space with compassion, resources and conviction, lives are changed,” she said. “We have seen it firsthand through partnerships with pregnancy health clinics and the presence of our Mobile Medical Clinic units across the country.”

DEAR READER

We hope this article enlightened and inspired you to stand up for life.

Despite the overturning of Roe v. Wade, abortions are still prevalent in our nation. As a response to the overturning, the media: from the news to entertainment sources to even political figures and celebrities, have pushed abortion as an ongoing agenda, shaping the way this generation thinks and acts. Misinformation is being spread every day, and people are sadly believing the lies.

Our articles and stories aim to tell one thing: the truth.

We know that it is both a blessing and a challenge to understand the reality of abortion, because knowledge incites belief, and belief incites action. But we’re in this together. We believe that we can make abortion unthinkable.

With your support, we look forward to a future where young women are empowered to fight for their own rights: a right to bring life into the world, to be fearless leaders, to be examples of hope, strength, and undeterred resilience. We look forward to a future where life can happen.

If this article strengthened your belief to reach women everywhere with the truth and to let life happen, then please consider helping us extend our reach by making a gift right now. Your gift of just $10 or $20 helps our mission to create a story of hope and empowerment for every woman facing an unplanned pregnancy.

We aim to create a culture that views “pro-life” as equivalent to having empathy and compassion, providing holistic care (before and beyond pregnancy) and education, and most importantly, choosing to speak and act in love. We are pro-life, pro-love, pro-woman, pro-solution.

Don’t just be part of the movement, be part of the solution, and give today.
