About Us

Compassion, Education and Holistic Care

Our mission is to create a story of hope and empowerment for every woman.

Creating a Culture of Life

We’re here to tell a different story.

One that reaches the hearts of women facing unplanned pregnancies. And one that educates them on all their options.

We want women to know that they are not alone; we’re here for them.

When we empower women with compassion, education and holistic care, we not only empower them to choose a better life for themselves and their children, we create a culture that respects and values every life.

I have hope today, I have peace today. Had it not been for having Noah — I wouldn’t have any of it…none of it. He changed my whole world and I have so many people to be thankful for that.
-Amy

What We Stand For

Our Core Values:

Love Boldly

We meet every woman with the open arms of Christ, offering compassion, grace, and hope.

Serve Women

We exist to walk alongside women facing unplanned pregnancies, providing medical care, practical support, and a safe place to be seen and heard.

Speak Truth

We believe women deserve honest, medically accurate information delivered with kindness and respect, so they can make confident, life-affirming decisions.

Defend Life

We stand for the dignity of every human life, from conception, because every heartbeat is precious and worthy of protection.

Persevere in Faith

We trust God to change hearts and transform culture through faithful obedience, even when the work is hard and the road is long.

We adhere to the statement of faith
that is expressed in the Nicene Creed.

We believe in one God,
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.

We believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the Only Begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary,
and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,
he suffered death and was buried,
and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead
and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.

We believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.
We confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins
and we look forward to the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come.

Amen.

Dr. Marcus A. Button
READ BIO
Dr. Marcus Button and Jennifer Button, PA-C, started their practice with a simple goal: to provide ethical patient-centered care for Cañon City and surrounding communities.  Their start on 5th Street in 2001 was motivated by a prayerfully led vision to meet the needs of patients – friends and neighbors – in an area that expressed a need for another physician and associated medical professionals.  Dr. Button provided obstetrical care for patients during the first ten years of his practice and continues to care for newborns and their mothers to this day.  Over the years, Button’s practice grew into its current location on 9th Street with the same values that guided us from the start – concern for excellence in partnering with patients for their best health.  The State of Colorado’s aggressive push for abortion prompted Dr. Button and Jennifer to become more actively involved in the pro-life movement, specifically in protecting unborn babies.  They strive to maintain a staff of committed medical professionals who are on a mission to take care of patients and actively advocate for the patients, both born and unborn.

Jim Heid, MD
READ BIO
I grew up in a large Catholic family, and faith was a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. I attended UCSD where I earned a bachelors in Biochemistry and Cell Biology.  I received my MD degree from UC Davis, and during the same 4 years, I got married and we had two children.  I completed a residency in family medicine at St Joseph’s hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. During my residency I fell in love with women’s health, doing extra rotations and activities in women’s health, and we conceived our third child.  I had become a lukewarm Christian by then, which led to a Damascus Road experience in 1999, resulting in a more sincere and deeper faith.
I practiced full spectrum family medicine for 24 years, including obstetrics for 22 of those years. I became involved in pro-life activities in 2001 and stayed involved in various capacities since then.  I embarked on a master’s degree in Bioethics at Trinity International University in June 2015, which I finished in December, 2018 – in preparation for a career change to palliative care.  However, in 2017 I started working a half day per week at the local pregnancy clinic turned women’s clinic.  Over the next 2 years, that half day grew into a half-time position, prompting me to leave standard medical practice in late 2019.  To fill my week, I do some worker’s compensation visits via telehealth, and I own a life and leadership vocational coaching business.

In 2023, I became a Family Nurse Practitioner. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work in Family Practice while also continuing my service at Reliance.
In my free time, I enjoy reading and spending quality time with my family. Not only have I been blessed to serve on the Medical Advisory Board for Save the Storks, I also currently sit on the board of Homes of Hope, a non-profit organization that provides support for local foster, biological, and adoptive families impacted by the foster care system.
