A Vessel of Divine Deliverance

A Note From CEO Diane Ferraro

Recently, in my quiet time with the Lord, I read Exodus 1 and 2.

“But when she could hide him (baby Moses) no longer, she got a papyrus basket for him and coated it with tar and pitch. Then she placed the child in it and put it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile.” (Exodus 2: 3-4)

My Bible, which has commentary from Dr. David Jeremiah, provided this insight:

“The words here for the papyrus basket also described the ark Noah built. Both are vessels of divine deliverance.”

And then it struck me: The Stork Bus is a modern-day “vessel of divine deliverance.”

Shortly after reflecting on this passage, I attended an elegant gala for Bridge Women’s Center – a pregnancy resource center in New Jersey run by Calvary Chapel Old Bridge. Mike Huckabee was the keynote speaker and executive director, Debbie Biskey, shared her powerful testimony.

Debbie runs the mobile ministry for Calvary Chapel Old Bridge – the first church in the United States to have a Stork Bus. In the first eight months of its operation the bus has helped save 131 babies.

A beautiful young woman named Aaliyyah shared her story of seeing her baby for the first time on the ultrasound in the Stork Bus. She was six months pregnant at the time. Her adorable son is now nine months old.

The mobile unit has been so successful the church has placed an order for a SECOND Stork Bus!

Recently, our team had the privilege of donating a new mobile medical unit to one of the first pregnancy centers that signed on as a partner of Save the Storks in 2015-Horizon Pregnancy Clinic in Huntington Beach, Calif.

Debra Tous, the executive director at Horizon, has committed to taking this Stork Bus named “Courage 2” into Los Angeles three days a week! This is so important because in California alone there are 111 Planned Parenthood clinics in the state with roughly 130,000 abortions taking place each year.

The Stork Bus is a modern-day “vessel of divine deliverance.”

Mission Critical Markets

California and Florida are mission-critical states for Save the Storks.

We are working with the facility that builds Stork Buses to double our production output this year. Our immediate need is to build 20 Stork Buses in the next 12 months. In addition, we want to increase production, reduce the build schedule and deliver more Stork Buses to more pregnancy centers and ministry partners who desperately want to do what Calvary Chapel Old Bridge and Horizon have done for women in their communities.

Here is a breakdown of some of the costs associated with each Stork Bus.

Vehicle Wrap: The beautiful outside covering of the bus with the name of the pregnancy center displayed.

100 people donating $46 will cover the cost of this unique wrap for a brand-new bus.

Exam Bed: A medical-grade exam table so women can have the highest quality equipment to receive their ultrasound.

100 people donating just $16.10 will pay for the exam bed in one mobile unit.

Refrigerator: This is designed to hold medical-grade STI/STD testing kits.

10 people donating $60 will pay for the drawer refrigerator in one mobile unit.

Volta Power System: Groundbreaking battery technology that allows the bus to operate for an entire day without running the engine. This ability makes it a zero-emissions vehicle.

$30,000

E450 Chassis: This is the “bones” of the Stork Bus. The bed of the vehicle.

$38,000

We hope you will prayerfully consider a donation of any amount to help us get more Stork Buses on the road!

DEAR READER

We hope this article enlightened and inspired you to stand up for life.

Despite the overturning of Roe v. Wade, abortions are still prevalent in our nation. As a response to the overturning, the media: from the news to entertainment sources to even political figures and celebrities, have pushed abortion as an ongoing agenda, shaping the way this generation thinks and acts. Misinformation is being spread every day, and people are sadly believing the lies.

Our articles and stories aim to tell one thing: the truth.

We know that it is both a blessing and a challenge to understand the reality of abortion, because knowledge incites belief, and belief incites action. But we’re in this together. We believe that we can make abortion unthinkable.

With your support, we look forward to a future where young women are empowered to fight for their own rights: a right to bring life into the world, to be fearless leaders, to be examples of hope, strength, and undeterred resilience. We look forward to a future where life can happen.

If this article strengthened your belief to reach women everywhere with the truth and to let life happen, then please consider helping us extend our reach by making a gift right now. Your gift of just $10 or $20 helps our mission to create a story of hope and empowerment for every woman facing an unplanned pregnancy.

We aim to create a culture that views “pro-life” as equivalent to having empathy and compassion, providing holistic care (before and beyond pregnancy) and education, and most importantly, choosing to speak and act in love. We are pro-life, pro-love, pro-woman, pro-solution.

Don’t just be part of the movement, be part of the solution, and give today.
