Save the Storks CEO Diane Ferraro, ‘We applaud the Court for ruling in favor of First Choice, ensuring donors never have to choose between conviction and loss of privacy’
PLANO, Texas — Save the Storks applauds the U.S. Supreme Court for unanimously siding with faith-based First Choice Women’s Resource Centers, affirming that pregnancy health clinics and their donors are entitled to the full protection of the First Amendment and that federal courts must remain open to hear their claims.
In December 2025, Save the Storks filed an amicus brief in support of First Choice Women’s Resource Centers, which allowed Save the Storks to demonstrate what a unified pro-life movement looks like — one rooted in compassion, courage and commitment.
“Pregnancy Health Clinics play a vital role in a woman’s journey into motherhood; they offer real options and invest in her life through the moment of decision,” said Diane Ferraro, CEO of Save the Storks. “By partnering with Save the Storks, Pregnancy Health Clinics are even better positioned as the go-to source for women’s health in their area.
“As an organization committed to helping Pregnancy Health Clinics grow as trusted, compassionate health care providers — empowering them to expand their reach and offer real options — we applaud the Court for ruling in favor of First Choice, ensuring donors never have to choose between conviction and loss of privacy. Additionally, Save the Storks sends sincere thanks to our partners, Andrew Nussbaum, First & Fourteenth and Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), for standing up for the sanctity of life and our mission to create a story of hope for women and families.”
Amy Stephens, Save the Storks senior advisor, strategic initiatives and public affairs, remarked, “Today’s unanimous Supreme Court decision is a watershed moment for every pregnancy center in America — and for every donor who has stood with us. Behind every mobile medical clinic, every free ultrasound, every woman who walks through our partners’ doors, there is a donor who believed this work mattered enough to fund it. For too long, those donors and the ministries they support have been treated as targets rather than as citizens exercising their First Amendment rights. The Court has now made clear what we have always known: serving women and protecting life is a calling to be honored, not a cause to be investigated. To our donors and partners — thank you. Your courage made this victory possible.”
Andrew Nussbaum, a partner at First and Fourteenth, who created and filed the amicus brief for Save the Storks said, “Save the Storks celebrates today’s unanimous Supreme Court victory in First Choice Women’s Resource Centers v. Platkin, a landmark decision that affirms what we and our partners have long known: pregnancy resource centers and the donors who support them are entitled to the full protection of the First Amendment, and federal courts must be open to hear their claims. Storks was proud to file an amicus brief in this case on behalf of itself and twenty of its partner pregnancy centers from across the country, sharing with the Court the firsthand experiences of ministries that have faced retaliatory and chilling government investigations simply because of their pro-life mission. For Storks and our partners — who deploy mobile medical clinics, provide free ultrasounds, and walk alongside women and families in their most vulnerable moments — this ruling is the most consequential decision since Dobbs. It ensures that hostile state officials can no longer weaponize their investigative powers to harass faith-based ministries without meaningful judicial review, and it safeguards the donors and supporters whose generosity makes life-affirming care possible. We are grateful to Alliance Defending Freedom and First Choice for their courageous stand, and we remain committed to defending the constitutional rights of every pregnancy center serving women, children, and families across America.”
